I have been on Levothyroxine for quite some time, so quite recently i suggested the use of another prescription to my doctor. The new medication was Armour, a very effective drug for Thyroid.
I came to find out during my research that Armour is much more effective than Levothyroxine and it's made from natural components. My doctor however refused to change my prescription without giving me any tangible reason. Only reason he gave me was that the drug in question had not been tested and approved.
But I think its because its much more expensive than my original prescription.
Why keep me on a less effective prescription when there is a much more effective one available?
"Is my doctor trying to save money on prescriptions?"
