My daughter had a hysterectomy recently and was in Loxley Ward for recovery. My husband and I visited on Saturday and again on Sunday and sadly her pain level on Sunday afternoon was extreme and was not controlled for several hours. We were understandably distressed and concerned to see our daughter struggling so much. We were sitting in the visitors room and Sarah, an auxillary nurse, came in and realised that we were upset. By this time it was late afternoon. Sarah very kindly brought us a cup of tea and this was followed by egg sandwiches and egg custard. Her care for us as well as our daughter mattered so much on that day and we shall always remember with great gratitude her support and care for us.
