My 87 year old father was admitted to Hairmyres Hospital to Ward 4 via A and E in the early hours. Unfortunately my fathers condition was too bad for him to receive any medical treatment and he therefore remained in the ward in a side room for palliative care.
Myself and my husband stayed with my father from his admission until the day he sadly passed away a few days later.
I felt compelled to write details of my story on this page due to the absolutely superb, outstanding care my father and indeed my whole family received from the staff during his admission. I find it difficult to put into words how wonderful they were in relation to their caring manner, thoughtfulness and general ultimate professionalism and obvious love of their jobs.
Everyone of the staff were superb however there were a few who went even above and beyond this who I would like to name and I hope that they receive some form of recognition as a result of this.
Kay and Linzi, both absolutely superb
The clinical support worker whose name I failed to catch. (she was going on holiday the following week to Jersey) absolutely superb
The meal hostess whose name I failed to catch. Yet again absolutely superb.
All the staff were superb however the above staff went in my opinion above and beyond and made a very sad and difficult time for myself and my family feel very supported.
"Outstanding Patient Care"
