My father was admitted to hospital, by ambulance, after being taken ill in the days leading up to 19th January.
He was immediately taken to Resus, where his needs were quickly assessed and intervention was given to make him more comfortable.
The following day he was transferred to a Medical Assessment Unit and the following day transferred to a Frailty Ward.
Throughout the whole of his stay, leading up to his death, he was treated with respect, dignity, kindness and care of the highest level. The staff supported us, looked after us and even taught us how to keep dad comfortable by teaching us some basic care skills.
We cannot thank everyone enough from the ambulance men that collected dad from home, to the numerous skilled members of your hospital team that assessed and cared for dad during his final hours.
You are doing a great job. Thank you so much!
