The staff at Riverbank are always courteous and understanding. I have always been treated with dignity and have been given respect.
Making an appointment to see the GP of your choice, however, is virtually impossible.
If you have an emergency then they will fit you in on the day but it is most likely to be with the GP you least want to see.
Generally the receptionists are good and I quite understand they have a difficult job and must undergo stressful situations.
There has only been one occasion when I found a receptionist unhelpful with regards to my needs.
The repeat prescription service Riverbank gives is excellent. Also, if you need a telephone consultation this is also very good and the call back time is very acceptable.
Given the length of time one has to wait in the surgery waiting room to see a doctor, I feel maybe more telephone conversations should take place for illnesses that do not require examination or urgent prescriptions.
This would mean fewer patients in waiting room thereby eliminating spread of colds/flu/stomach bugs and allowing the doctor a liitle more breathing space to see patients.
I would like to add that despite the criticism that we make about the NHS, we should all be aware that, at the end of the day, we are fortunate to have this privilege of healthcare.
My thanks goes to all those working at Riverbank.
