Recently I was admitted to East Surrey hospital AMU unit.

I had unfortunately taken an overdose and was refusing treatment and continued to refuse treatment all day. My blood levels were coming back bad and they really needed to treat me to save my life.

The team were amazing. They tried to understand why I didn't want treatment. I was very mentally distressed. But numerous members of staff took the time and care to sit and talk to me and talk it through with me and go through the pros and cons of having treatment that would inevitably save my life.

I am truly thankful for the staff at East Surrey hospital and would suggest this service to anyone who needed the same type of care as I did.
