My grandmother spent the last 3 weeks on boxgrove ward on end of life care, she passed away there yesterday afternoon and we as a family feel compelled to report how excellent ALL the staff on that ward were, from the consultant to the house keeper. With special mention to the ward sister who supported my mother brilliantly while she sat with my grandmother everyday. My nan was treated with dignity to the very end, and even after she passed the ward sister collected some flowers for her to take on her journey. From visiting you could see the enormous pressures the staff had to deal with on a daily basis and they dealt with every issue with such professionalism. Although we are sad that my nan had to die in hospital we are so touched by the sensitivity, dignity and care that boxgrove staff provided her making her final weeks comfortable. We could never thank them enough. They deserve a medel.
