Today I bought my very frail mother to surgery to have her ears syringed ready for a hospital appt on Monday 21May only to be told that the syringing machine was broken again, she had an appt in March at the hospital but again we had to cancel because the machine was broken. The receptionist told me today that they had phoned yesterday to tell her this but no call was received by her, ironic really because earlier this week a text message was sent to my mobile to confirm her appointment but nobody sent a message to my mobile to cancel! The receptionist also said you are no longer going to offer syringing, I note that Lakesides website says ’ that patients needs are at the heart of everything we do’ well I beg to differ.
I have now had to cancel her hospital appt for Monday 21st and make her another which is in JULY this is completely unacceptable. So we are now 4 months down the line with no progress for my 84 year old mother.
