"Orthopaedic Department"

About: Wansbeck Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

Had an operation in my spine, staff were excellent well cared for. Food was very bland I found.

Couldn’t get any sleep the seagulls are squaring morning and night it is terrible when you only manage to get an hours sleep due to all of them nesting. It’s is only 3.30 am in the morning and I am writing this review as I am unable to sleep it’s not fair when you are trying to get better to put up with it.

Sleep is the one that makes you strong and improve I am so tired after two days on this ward .

Please do something about it we shouldn’t have to put up with it.

Apart from distered nights I even had the window closed on a night they were still making a huge racket. It needs to be brought to the attention of management that it’s

Not fair when we cannot get rest on a night time.

It’s is a very friendly ward and there is a good team spirit every one helps each other it is run by nurses and nurse practitioners.

Dear Sir/Madam,

Thank you for your review and for bringing the seagull issue at Wansbeck hospital to our attention. Please be assured that we are doing all we can to tackle noise at night on our wards, sleep is such an important part of recovery. On wards where noise at night is an issue we do offer ear plugs, I am sorry this wasn’t offered to you. We will contact the ward as a result of your review and ensure they do have a stock of ear plugs available for their patients.

Due to the anonymous nature of your review it is difficult to know specifically which ward you are referring to ?

Please continue to work with us by sharing the details of the ward with me - my email is Annie.laverty@nhct.nhs.uk

I do hope you are recovering well following your spinal surgery?

I will ensure your kind words about the high quality care you received are shared with the orthopaedic team.

All the best and I look forward to hearing from you.

Annie
