I was first referred to the royal infirmary Edinburgh in summer 2017. I suffer from osteoarthritis. I waited patiently and was given an appointment for the end of May to see someone. They were very nice and said they would put me on the waiting list. I asked how long I’d have to wait and was told I’d have my surgery within 12 weeks. I also said I was more than happy to go to the golden jubilee hospital in Clydebank. That would be convenient for me as my son lives nearby.
Almost 6 weeks later and I have heard nothing. My problem is that I live alone and I need to make appropriate arrangement. I do intend to stay with my son just after my surgery but all of this takes planning. I am getting more and more nervous and I’d just like dates so I can get organised. I think I have been more than patient. I keep hearing about 18 weeks from referral to surgery. In my case I can add 30 plus weeks onto that.
"Hip replacement."
