I could not have asked for better care from the moment I arrived at hospital until I was released later the same day, having been given a full explanation of how the procedure had gone.
Similarly my aftercare has been excellent, with an appointment already made for a follow-up repeat procedure to be performed in 3 years time, under general anaesthetic.
Getting access to the general anaesthetic initially proved problematical, but when I met with Mr King, Consultant Surgeon, all went quickly, smoothly, and efficiently thereafter.
Ms Stevenson, Consultant Surgeon, performed the procedure and has since been in touch with me.
My grateful thanks go similarly to all staff who were extremely friendly and approachable.
My wish is that the option to have the procedure done under General Anaesthetic be made more easily and widely available to all who request it, and who might otherwise decline to have the colonoscopy otherwise. Let's put the patient's needs before the costs incurred by the NHS!!
