I will break these down into three areas
I visited my optician on 4 July, who referred me to Spa Medica
I received an appointment for 19 July to establish what treatments are required, the service was efficient and outstanding. After a warm welcome from the receptionist I saw four people in succession culminating in a diagnosis for the treatment required. I was offered a date for the procedure on 24 July
. My appointments was 14.20 on 24 July, I received a warm welcome from two receptionists who put me at ease and supplied me with tea, biscuits and a big smile.
I was told the procedure would take approximately three hours from start to finish. After initial identity checks. I was shown to a room with reclining armchairs separated by screens. I spent some time there which allowed the eye drops to become effective prior to the procedure. I was then shown to a room next to the theatre were a most delightful nurse put my mind at rest explained exactly what was going to happen. Next the surgeon came to see me and talk me through the procedure.I was then shown through to the theatre again greeted by several friendly people and the operation commenced, it seemed to last about 10 minutes. There was little or no discomfort. I was then taken to see a nurse who explained the dos and don'ts for the next few days.
I left the centre at about 5 PM, who arranged a taxi for me to go home.
As this is a new centre with many of the staff having only joined the company recently. It is remarkable the level of competence and confidence displayed by everybody involved in my treatment.
I am sure Spa Medica Birmingham will soon be known as a centre of excellence
