"Cardiology Waiting Times"

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Cardiology

(as a service user),

Waiting for a cardiology appointment going on 6 weeks, doctor informed me it would be 2 and we would get a time, really looking for some help with AF unfortunately cant get this from GP

We do try to see our patients with AF as quickly as possible so I am sorry you have been waiting for 6 weeks for your appointment.

Most people with AF are looked after by their GPs and you should be able to get advice from your GP if you are continuing to have difficulty since you last saw them. Often they can offer helpful treatments which can start before you are seen for assessment in the cardiology department and we work closely with our colleagues in your local practice around this. If this has already been done and you are now waiting for assessment here in the hospital, I would expect to be seeing you soon but I realise any wait is frustrating and I am sorry for that. Please feel free to contact me via my secretary Sharon (01324 566832) and hopefully I can let you have more detailed information.
