Uncaring and indifferent staff in ward 6, some with ‘attitude’. Whatever you asked for took hours to arrive, even if you had chronic indigestion, needed a sick bowl or pounding headache you had to wait. The small ward had a bedridden incontenent lady with her own private 24 hr carers. She defecated several times a day and night and the whole ward stank constantly of her excrement 24/7. We had to endure that whilst eating food and breathing it in. She also needed constant care through the night, food and cups of tea and her private carers did not give a hoot about the noise they made and their constant chatter day and night. Why wasnt she put in a side room? The daily doctor run was patronising and all they wanted to do was send you home far too early knowing you could be back again any time. Awful experince and our health and well being was ignored and the constant smell of excrement made me vomit and totally made me feel like nobody cared. I would have had a better experience eating my food in the toilet!
"Ward 6 Indifferent staff and lack of care."
