I was recently a patient at Nottingham City campus day surgery unit. Although the staff were welcoming, friendly and helping I found the whole place just to be a huge conveyour belt. Constantly being called in and out from the waiting room to get changed, see this doctor and that doctor. I was rather disheartened that I didn’t meet my surgeon at all that day not even After my surgery when In recovery. I never received an update on how my operation went and really expected to at least. The recovery nurse in charge of my caring was attentive but in a pushy way, I couldn’t keep my eyes open and she made me get dressed without offering to help, she didn’t assist me down from the raised bed or even when struggling over to the chair. I didn’t feel well at all but had my SATs done then was free to leave still too weak and dizzy to walk. Personally I hope to never need surgery again but if needed I will do refuse it if schedules there.
