Having attended with an enlarged testicle in July 2017 I was immediately taken by the ultra sound doctor to Urology who arranged for a CT Scan within 2 days and an Orchiectomy within a week.
From biopsy I was diagnosed with Diffuse Large B Cell Lymphoma and referred to Oncology. Radiologists picked up that my appendix was enlarged and a meeting of all experts decided to operate on that before commencing Chemo. A consultant surgeon undertook the Appendectomy as an emergency and was able to check that the Mucocele present in the appendix had not spread to the colon. A course of R CHOP Chemo followed. The last Chemo was in Feb 2018 and follow up with Oncology indicates that the cancer has gone. Further follow up appointment in October 2018 to come. Throughout all the procedures which have involved Ulrasound , CT and PET Scans, a Colonoscopy, 2 operations numerous blood tests and 6 months of Chemo I have been treated in a competent, friendly, caring and timely way by all staff in the hospital. Their dedication to their professions is magnificent and I have been reassured by the cooperative manner in which they undertake their work. I am impressed with a hospital which receives more than its fair share of criticism in my view.
"Extremely competent and caring staff."
