"Wonderful care for my elderly mother."

My mother ( 87) was recently in Derwent ward for 3 weeks after being admitted after a fall.

I was most impressed with all the staff at the hospital. Whenever I asked to speak to a doctor, someone appeared fairly quickly. The nurses on the geriatric wards, coping with patients whose dementia frequently makes them extremely difficult to deal with, have the patience of saints. I never once saw any instance of someone being treated abruptly or dismissively.

A special mention must go to the energetic lady in the activity room. Whatever she is on, I’d like some !
