My uncle has had Dementia for about 3 years now which has been getting worse over time, the care department at Stirling council has been excellent. Unfortunately one Sunday morning my uncle assaulted the carer.
I felt completely lost having no idea what direction or action was needed to go forward.
That was when the Mental Health team were informed and Alister and Frank came and assessed my Uncle. They were excellent in there manner to my Uncle. They managed to get my uncle to go to hospital where he could get a thorough check over.
On returning home my Uncles mood had changed and he was very confused and un-happy.
When Alister did his follow up I informed him of my Uncles mood and he visited him the next day and put him on anti-depressants straight away.Three weeks on they are beginning to work but it has been very concerning.
There has been on going support and I have been told that I can contact Alister at any time in the future.
Both the care department and Mental health team have been excellent,I would be lost without them.
Thank You
"My 82 year old Uncle"
