The service my husband and I have received from the Kilbirnie district nurses has been outstanding. We are elderly (87 and 81) and when my husband was diagnosed with myeloma the support we received from the nurses was vital to myself as a carer and my husband as the patient. We were able to get assistance with the many blood samples that were required without having to go to the health centre as my husband had to be aware of infection as he was on chemotherapy and he also has difficulty in walking. The nurses went out of their way to reassure us and also to help deal with any side effects, They gave us the confidence to deal with this condition.
