Yesterday I went to collect my son's prescription from the pharmacy and was told they had stopped it and to contact the doctors.
I called Birley Health Centre and they said he should have had a review in September so they have stopped prescribing his tablets, but the review wasn't for his tablets, it was for his asthma spray, which he hadn't had for the previous 5 years! He saw the doctor October/November time and they increased his tablets, however this review was not down in his records (there was also some confusion around the prescription at the health centre, his tablets we doubled for the month but they thought it was for a two month supply).
This means that he now has to go see the doctor again but we are struggling to get an appointment. You have to ring at 8.30am to get an appointment for that day but we are all on our way to work at that time. By they time I can ring all the appointments are gone. I know they have some late night openings for people who work but you still have to ring at the same time for these. The earliest pre-booked appointment he can get is 3 weeks away and he needs his tablets.
When I went in to the surgery t the receptionists said they would have to refer my quire to the doctors but I have not heard anything from them regarding the situation, no information and no apology
