"Hospital Appointment"

About: Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital (Bolsover Street)

I recently was referred to RNOH Bolsover Street using the E referral booking service,.I noted that all appointments needed to be confirmed. I subsequently received a conformation direct from RNOH on 10th

October for an appointment on 23October at 11.30.

My wife and I travelled up to London starting out at 8 30 am by taxi and train a distance of some 35 miles, upon arrival to my suprise

I was informed I was informed that I did not actually have an appointment either then or any other date, I showed both my electronic

and confirmed appointment letter. The receptionist showed my letter to a member of the medical team, he took the letter away and returned once again said sorry no appointment .I don't understand how any patient can be given an appointment letter and then told on the day sorry cant help you At my age I really don't need to waste a day and a lot of money on things like this.

Please excuse the delay in our response. We are very sorry to hear that you have not had a great experience at the RNOH. These are not the standards we expect from our staff. We have a Patient Advice and Liaison team within the Trust which you may find helpful. If you haven’t already, please consider contacting them on 020 8909 5430 or via email: rnoh.pals@nhs.net so that you may discuss your experience and options further. Again, thank you for contacting us. China - Communications team.
