CT scan waiting times

"CT scan waiting times"

About: Crosshouse Hospital / Xrays & Scans

(as the patient),

I am awaiting a vital CT scan and have no idea how long the waiting list is. Suspected pancreatitis. Worried I will become more ill before getting the scan. Anyone know the answer?

Dear lupussm56,

I know the answer (ish). At Crosshouse at the moment, an urgent referral is being done within 3-4 weeks, routine referral around 18 weeks at the moment but this can shift a little up or down.

There are some things to you can do

- Call 01563 - 825107 (CT appointments at Crosshouse and with your details, they can tell you what the wait is for you at the moment

- when you call, if you are able to take a short-notice/ cancellation appointment, let them know. As long as they have an up-to-date phone number, you may be lucky and get a call to come in sooner

- you can contact Ayr (if that is an option for you in terms of travel) and tell them that you could attend Ayr and can you be put on their list for a short-notice appointment. Again, give a phone number and you may get offered one at Ayr earlier.

While nothing is a guarantee, there are appointment cancellations frequently.
