Cardiac Arrest Survived- 28 April 2018 my daughter (mid 30's) had a Cardiac Arrest at my home. Ambulance and Emergency Dr and Paramedic crews responded-CPR-Pneumothorax-Intubated Admitted to BRI - Intensive Care Unit A600 Dr T. Gould .
Patient put into induced coma and body chilled down and on a ventilator , 1 to 1 care. Computer
Monitored real time. After two days she was gradually released from Coma and Chilling and regained consciousness very slowly. She appeared to make a good recovery.
As regards BRI
ITU A600 ward, one particular consultant team Dr's and Nurses and all staff were excellent in all regards.
The ITU A600 is a state of the art unit -constant real time computer patient monitoring enabling rapid decision making. Patients are cared for 1 to 1 as required.
This particular consultant is an innovator and leader in Intensive Care medicine.
In terms of performance rating it would be at the highest level though I appreciate there are many "internal" aspects to this.
From my viewpoint my daughters life has been saved - only 1 in 10 survive Cardiac Arrest outside of Hospital - thanks to NHS she survived.
