"Hospital Pharmacy"

About: Medway Maritime Hospital

(as a relative),

My husband got discharged today but had been told he could have to wait up to 4+ hours for his meds from the pharmacy. Why have such a small pharmacy to deal with the whole hospital both inpatient and A& E patients.   This is not acceptable.   The hospital needs a bigger department to deal with this.   I feel that once the patient is discharged and either put in the discharge lounge or from the ward and made to wait several hours to finally leave.   This whole service needs to overhauled drastically.

Whilst we do recognise that there have been delays with providing patients with medication the Pharmacy Team have worked very hard to introduce new measures recently to help combat this problem.

We hope your husband is recovering well from this episode of ill health and wish him all the best.

Kindest regards,

The Patient Experience Team
