"First class care"

About: Sunderland Royal Hospital

I recently had a heart attack and was admitted via A and E to an assessment ward and onward to a cardiac ward. I was dealt with swiftly and efficiently at every single stage. I have nothing but praise for all involved and the care I received in a difficult situation where there were kidney-function complications and rotten veins for cannulas. Ultimately I found myself in the angiography suite for treatment. Again, courteous, cheerful and patient treatment over about four hours with full information given at all stages. Can I simply record my extreme gratitude to all the staff concerned. Just one little thing - I am an ex-smoker and have no doubt I have contributed to my own defective health but I do find it discourteous indeed insulting for heart patients to be constantly nipping out for a fab or even alcoholic drinks.
