"Lovely staff"

About: Royal Aberdeen Children's Hospital / Out Patient Department

(as a parent/guardian),

Recently my son was playing with our chocolate lab and always tries to get his toys out of the dogs mouth, unfortunately this time round the dogs teeth went into our toddler's pinky. With it being an animal wound we took him straight to Aberdeen children’s A&E.

We were greeted by the receptionist who was friendly and told us to take a seat to wait. We only waited 5 minutes and we were then seen by a nurse ( I can’t remember her name. She has blonde hair with glasses) she was lovely and with my son she was ever so gentle and spoke to him but he didn’t want to show his pinky as it was sore. She took her time and was very patient with him even when he tried to hide under the table! The nurse got another nurse (as it was 2nd shift) who was just as lovely and spoke about paw patrol. Which allowed them to clean it.

They got a doctor ( i think her name was Eleanor) who was also lovely. She prescribed antibiotics and then the two lovely nurses came back with it and dressed his finger which my son allowed them to do!

Just want to thank all of them and for taking there time with my son as he’s a very shy toddler.

Dear Kieron

Coming to hospital can be very scary for children especially when they are very young and unsure of people so I am pleased that the staff were able to build a bit of a rapport with him through "Paw Patrol".

I hope that his finger is on the mend and that it hasn't put him off from playing with his pet Labrador.

Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback which I will ensure is passed on to the staff.
