I was admitted last Saturday evening for a stay in this ward at Whiston Hospital. I had spent the afternoon at Aintree Hospital (great emergency treatment there initially) before making it to Whiston Hospital. All I can say is that the nurses and doctors where so friendly and happy (unlike the ones I sometimes come across at my local 'unhappy' hospital) and explained procedures to me, showed me where the bathroom was etc. The ward was spotless but perhaps more importantly was quiet as the nurses turned the lights off and we had control of our own lighting by our beds. All very modern. The breakfast lady was a star and so cheerful. Food was much better than the norm also. I really liked the pictorially laminated pictures at each bedside explaining the different coloured uniforms and the roles of staff. Although I only spent one night I would not have become depressed if I had been told to stay another. The staff were just excellent and took a pride in their work. I couldn't believe the difference between this ward/hospital and my local one..worlds apart! Thank you Ward 3A
