My relative was receiving end of life care in ward six at the Queen Margaret Hospital in Dunfermline and myself and another relative were taking it in turns to be with her during this time overnight. The bank member of staff called Claire( sorry I don't remember her surname) was working the nightshift on Friday and Saturday as a nursing auxiliary and the care she provided not only to my relative but to us as a family was excellent.
I was experiencing a bit of a tough time on the morning of Sunday just before Claire went off duty and had to leave the room as it was all too much at that point and Claire could not have done or said anymore to help me when I was upset. She knew exactly what to say that helped me to cope with the situation and for that I am so grateful to her and my hope is that you are able to pass on to her my thanks for all she did in the support of me and my other relatives at this very difficult time. If all members of staff for the NHS showed as much care and compassion as Claire did that time the health service would be better for it.
"excellent care by a member of bank staff"
