On Thursday at 5am I was admitted to the Gynaecology ward 308. I had to have a laparoscopy to remove an ectopic pregnancy. I was emotional, exhausted and terrified of surgery but from the minute I arrived every member of staff I encountered was caring, supportive and worked hard to put me at ease.
Unfortunately I can’t remember all the staff names but I do remember Megan, Regina and Shireen (I think).
I was terrified before surgery but the theatre staff could see how emotional and scared I was and they were so kind and understanding. Again I didn’t catch their names but the anaesthetist I had was amazing because I was out in seconds!
In the recovery ward I was looked after by Matthew (I hope this is right!) who was so kind and friendly. He had to put up with my drug induced chat about tv programmes and types of rum but he really helped me at such a difficult time. Every encounter I had with staff was warm and supportive and I was blown away by the care I was given and how hard every member of staff worked. Thank you all for helping me cope during such a traumatic experience.
