"Expert blood-thief, a real asset to the surgery"

Just popped into my local GP surgery for a routine blood test. 

I arrived 2 mins early and checked in on electronic screen - easy as pie. 
I was called in bang on time. 

I was greeted by a friendly phlebotomist, who told me what I needed to know, asked if I had any questions (I didn't), prepped my arm, swiftly and expertly drew the blood with minimal pain, and told me when I could expect the results. 

I told her she seemed very expert and that I was grateful for how easy she made it look. She thanked me, seemingly surprised to get positive feedback, and said it was good to know that after so many years she hadn't got complacent. 

The whole interaction from arrival to walking back out was no more than 5 mins. 

It sounds very trivial and certainly nothing to write home (or write here!) about, but almost every time I've had blood taken in my life there's been an issue extracting blood (often taken multiple punctures, pain and twice I've had to return on another day). It's also fairly often the case that appointments run late, electronic systems don't work as they should or I encounter staff who are 'not all that'.  

This was just a perfect little example of efficiency, and not at the detriment of courtesy. The phlebotomist (her name began with C, in room 2) was very clearly a real asset to the surgery - I imagine she takes blood most of the day, and she has it down to an art.
