I attended Hairmyres hospital with my type 1 diabetic 6 year old daughter. My daughter had hurt her foot and required a x ray, I said Ok I'l just take her Insulin pump off, they questioned me and asked me why??
Our insulin pump provider strictly tells us that this device must NOT go through x ray machines, mri, airport scanners etc.
In doing so it can cause the insulin pump to malfunction, possibly causing insulin to be delivered and severe hypo.
I'm surprised this was so alien to the staff. Surely they have seen an Insulin pump before?
