Arrived at Barrhead Health and Care Centre for Retinal Screening yesterday afternoon. Receptionist barely looked up from her computer to take my name and tell me to take a seat. A man arrived at the doors and said something inaudible. I knew he hadn't said my name so I didn't get up. He said 'eye screening' (I think!). I apologised and explained I hadn't heard my name as I had expected. He looked at me as if I was from another planet and made no response. I followed him down empty corridors to a room where he pointed to a chair. Instructions and 2 questions were barked at me very quickly. No drops were put in my eyes. He mumbled something about results which I didn't catch and expected me to get up to go when he hadn't switched the light on and I couldn't see properly as well after the equipment flashes. I was left to find my way out along the corridors. I have not felt so intimidated or come across such rude customer service in years.
"Poor customer care during my retinal screening"
