"Echocardiogram waiting time"

About: University Hospital Hairmyres / Cardiology

(as the patient),

I have been referred for a echocardiogram to which my doctor said should be done within 6 weeks. However when phoning the referral management Lanarkshire I have been told there is a 20 week wait is this correct procedure?

Dear Cd1929

Thank you for you enquiry and contacting us via Care Opinion.

Echocardiogram waiting time on the Hairmyres site is currently 9 weeks, apologies for any confusion with the information you have been given, hopefully you should have an appointment soon.

Please feel free to contact me directly if you wish the department to look at your case individually, and give you an indication of when you can expect to be appointed. Alternatively, you can contact Angela Dixon, Service Development Manager, on 01355 584160. She will be more than happy to investigate your situation further if required

Kind Regards

Hazel

Afternoon Hazel, thank you for your response.

Do you have a contact number for yourself and a preferred time to contact you? I had contacted the referral management service again last week and was then told 12/14 weeks for the hairmyers site.

regards

Dear Cd1929

Thank you for taking the time to call us the other morning. Apologies for the confusion and miscommunication. The wait time you were given was for the Cardiology outpatient service and not for the Cardiology diagnostic service. Hopefully we have resolved your issue and that you are happy with our service.

Your feedback is important to us so we can provide a high standard of patient centred care, and we appreciate you taking the time to contact us.

Please get in touch should you have any issues in the future

Kind regards

Hazel

Good Morning Hazel,

Thank you for sorting out the issue last month, I got all the appropriate tests done however have still not had results back from the holter monitor I had. Will I still be waiting for a cardiologist appointment or is that it now that the tests have been done? As when I was in getting the tests done they said they would leave the cardiology appointment in for me but have still not received a letter or anything to tell me when this would be I know you said on the phone the last time we spoke that it would be mid June I think yesterday (19th June) is when you were expecting the appointment.

regards
