"Having a baby at the Nightingale Midwife LED Unit"

About: King's College Hospital (Denmark Hill) / Maternity

I gave birth at the midwife led unit at Kings on 31/5/19. The staff were absolutely fantastic & I was very impressed by the attentiveness, professionalism and kindness of the midwives. I was initially in one of the rooms with a birthing pool, which was very clean, comfortable and spacious. I was very impressed with the amenities available. I was then transferred on to labour ward after a minor complication, which was dealt with in a very speedy manner and the midwives were very quick to call for assistance from paediatrician colleagues to support the birth. We were met fully informed but felt reassured and comfortable that the staff had the situation in hand. We stayed for one night on the ward, which was obviously less private, but the care from the staff was also good.
