I was lucky enough to have a low risk pregnancy again with my third baby and gave birth to a healthy baby girl on 1st June in the Lilac Birth Centre at Whipps Cross. I cannot thank the three midwives enough who were on duty that night and took such excellent care of me (and my husband!!) the birth centre itself was fantastic, we were given a very nice, clean and well decorated suite with a birth pool that was amazing, ambient lighting, relaxing music - and the midwives were very attentive, helpful, encouraging, and really helped me through the labour. At several points I was asking to be transferred downstairs for an epidural but as they knew this wasn’t actually part of my birth plan and I ideally wanted to give birth without any significant intervention they were very very good at encouraging me to keep going just a little longer - until my little one was born! I was very impressed with their advice and methods of keeping me motivated, and I cannot praise them highly enough. I would really recommend the Lilac Birth Centre to anyone who is able to use it. Thank you to the staff for being absolutely fantastic!
