"Hysterectomy journey of care review"

I have been seeing a wonderful gynaecologist for my care and after thorough consultations it was decided that surgery was the best option for me and my situation. Throughout, everything was explained clearly, in detail and a treatment plan outlined to me.

During my pre assessment clinic I had the opportunity to discuss my concerns in relation to my medical history with the consultant who was knowledge and made me feel very comfortable and reassured. She made appropriate notes and follow up was detailed. In the same respect, the nursing staff had been friendly and explained the next step regarding all investigations and how these would be actioned. On the day of my planned surgery needless to say I was anxious but I was treated by friendly and reassuring staff who made me feel at ease and make sure I was comfortable. My process through admission was efficient and when I arrived in theatre the consultant and the team were respectful, reassuring and professional. I felt very happy. The gynaecologist and her team were just the same. I felt safe and and confident that what ever happened I was in safe hands. My recovery was just the same; friendly, professional and reassuring. I was also very impressed with the care and dedication the staff had to the other patients on my ward.

What a positive experience! I cannot thank all the staff on my journey throughout my care it was above and beyond my expectations and I have nothing but praise for all the staff throughout my journey.
