This was the first and hopefully the last time of having a prescription filled at the Pharmacy within Ealing Hospital.
Handing in the script was fine and duly informed of a 40 minute wait.
There were two other people waiting ahead of me and for the first 25 minutes the waiting board was frozen so the information was meaningless.
Eventually the board was updated and the two individuals ahead of me finally received their medications.
Meanwhile another woman later appeared and joined the queue, i.e. the next person after myself.
At last my number was on the board as showing 'ready' then as I got up to collect my items an individual in the pharmacy called out a number after mine (i.e. for the woman who had only been waiting a short while) - just what was so urgent that I was pushed back having waited so long. Then the same pharmacy individual called my number (I was the only person left waiting at this time) and from the outset seemed to find my two prescription items something highly amusing and started waving a box of laxative powders at me as if he were selling soap powder whilst at the same time almost giggling as if it were some joke. I found their manner so irritating as they were bobbing around I tried to read their name badge which indicated that they were apparently professionally qualified. Do they find medical bowel issues some area of amusement? This patient certainly does not, is currently being treated with chemotherapy which produces a wide range of unpleasant symptoms and wonder what else this individual finds so amusing about my condition. In the unfortunate circumstance that I would need to use this pharmacy again in the future I hope never to have to tolerate this particular individual.
