Thank you to the staff of ward B23 who looked after my mum after she fell and broke her hip and required surgery.
My mum has dementia so it was difficult to be able to get to know her and understand her needs on a busy ortho ward but I did feel the staff made every effort to not only give her the best care from an ortho point of view but also to support her as well as possible.
The butterfly scheme worked well but also every member of staff that we met spoke with us as relatives and engaged with my mum in an understanding and courteous way. What I really appreciated was at no point were we told anyone was "too busy" or "just wait a minute". It was much appreciated thank you.
"Understanding and courteous staff"
