I visited the LGI ward 26 today with my 16 year old son as a day patient for surgery.
Well wha can I say, from the moment we arrived to Ward 26 to our leaving , he received the most excellent care.
As a 16 year old he was treated as an adult inpatient and although was with me his mum, was treated and spoken to as an individual.
Each and every member of staff was approachable, polite, helpful, attentive, informative and most important of all had a smile on their face.
From the receptionist, to the registrar, to the Sister, to the senior practitioner, to the surgeons and finally to the lovely nurse who took great care of my son after his op to the lovely assistant that served myself and my son tea and cake after his op.
I would like to say a big thank you.
It was such a busy morning with lots of patients to take care of but we felt like we were the only ones that mattered.
Special thanks to the ward Sister who made us chuckle and gave us the biggest wave when we left! ????
