About: Stoke Mandeville Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as a service user),

Had a motorcycle accident on & sustained a broken collarbone. However the following night became very short of breath & called ambulance that took me to SM a&e!   

11 hours later xrays were taken, nothing more confirmed by this xray & sent home!   Got a call next day to say I had a splinter of rib in my lungs & they'd contact my GP for another x-ray.   Called my GP today, who confirmed they'd not been contacted!   At this point in time, I feel if I was a dog I would of got better treatment!

I am sorry to hear about your accident and injury you have sustained.

I would like to offer you the opportunity to have this matter formally investigated to understand what has gone wrong and how we avoid it happening to another one of our patients.

to do this we would need a little bit more information from you and I would invite you to contact the Patient Advice & Liaison Service (PALS) on 01296 316042 to talk about your specific experience, and to see how we may be able to assist you at this time.

In the meantime I will share your comments with the A&E Team.
