My partner has come off the ward 204 at the RDH last week after spending a few days in hospital on the ward and we just wanted to say thank you to all the staff who have helped my partner recover! The nurses were really understanding and let me sit with my partner quietly an hour before visiting times due to myself having young children and not being able to visit on the times open.
I work at the hospital myself and when I was able to visit my partner within my working day, I was glad to see that he was comfortable and well looked after (When he wasn't fast asleep!)
I met a few other patients on the ward during the time I visited and it was evident that they were really being taken care of with the best intentions at all times, the staff all put 110% and this really shone through them.
I found it comforting that all the patients in the room got along with each other and they all found comfort in having one another opposite or next to them. My partner found it quite hard to leave the other 3 men who he had spent the previous 4 days with as he constantly wondered and worried what had happened to them.
Thankfully, my partner is now home and resting after being released a day earlier than expected.
My partner isnt keen on hospitals in the slightest but his recent admission was a really positive experience and we cant thank this ward and all those people (such as EMAS staff and A&E, plus call holders) enough!
