"Appauling"

Phoned at 4.30pm because my 4 year was screaming in pain couldn't stand up straight with abdo pain when i picked her up from school. Receptionist refused any appointment or to even speak to a GP on my behalf. I queried how they can refuse any medical advice at 4.30pm and she said they only have urgent appointments and all GP's are busy. Asked what I should do as daughter has had infection in lymph glands previously and her response was "wait til 6.30pm and phone out of hours for a GP appointment or go to A&E". This is exactly why A&E is currently reported as high risk in the area with all hospitals at maximum capacity because a 4y/o can't even get advice from a GP at 4.30pm!!!
