When someone leaves the Dovedale Inpatient Ward they are sent a Exit Questionnaire to rate their recent stay on the ward. The ward really value getting feedback as it helps them to monitor and improve services for the future.
Below is a summary of the responses received by a recent service user:
They always felt respected during their stay on the ward and always felt safe in their surroundings.
In general they thought that they had received enough information about the ward, had met their Named Nurse to discuss their care, saw the Doctor regularly and had confidence in the staff that worked with them.
They thought that being in the Multi Disciplinary Team Meeting (MDT) and Ward round was very useful and that they had been offered a copy of their care plan and had the necessary information about their medication.
The felt that they had been offered regular occupational therapy and had been able to participate in activities on the ward.
On leaving the ward they knew the arrangements for their follow-up care.
When thinking about their overall experience and how they had been communicated they thought it had been very good for the whole time.
When asked "can you describe two things that helped you during your stay" they responded with "all staff including housekeeping were very helpful"
When asked "can you describe at least two things you think can be improved on the ward" They said that Doctors, staff were always helpful and that the care and food were excellent.
