I found a small lump in my breast in February 2006, went for tests the day after my son went abroad on holiday. In those two weeks I received the results confirming that the lump was malignant, had the pre-op tests, had the operation and was home again before he was.
The operation was carried out in Kettering General Hospital by Mr. Stewart and he and all the staff were absolutely professional and caring. I was given so much information and advice and the cancer clinic nurses were superb to both me and my husband.
The after care was excellent and I have just completed a course of twenty daily radiotherapy treatments at Northampton General Hospital Oncology Unit. The staff were all so happy that it was a pleasure to go and we shall quite miss our trips over there. We found Dr. Matthews charming and very patient with my list of questions.
I am sure I could not have received better treatment anywhere else even had I been a private patient and both my husband and I would like to thank all the staff involved for helping me through my first ever operation and for easing us through a traumatic three months, which has even been made enjoyable by their kindness and assistance.
