I attended for pre-open assessment in January 2020. On giving the staff nurse my list of medication, they said they needed to check if the HRT I was taking would need to be stopped. The staff nurse checked with someone and I was informed it didn't need to be stopped and to carry on taking it as normal.
I turned up at TAS for my surgery in March 2020 and the surgeon told me I couldn't have my operation, as I should have stopped my HRT 6 weeks prior to surgery. I was sent away and will now not get my surgery for another 6 weeks.
I feel utterly disappointed and angry that this should happen and wish this matter to be looked in to. I feel angry that my time has been wasted. I work for the NHS and my diary has been cleared for 2 weeks to accommodate my surgery. That is 2 weeks worth of patients who will have to wait for their tests all due to an incompetent service.
