What I liked
Having woken with severe abdominal pain & violent vomiting on 25th June 2012, I was taken to Torbay Hospital by emergency ambulance with suspected adhesions, due to a radical cystectomy in 2002.
On arrival at A & E I was dealt with efficiently & kindly, despite the high number of admissions that day.
After an overnight stay in an assessment ward I was transferred to Forrest Ward where I received exemplary care & kindness from hard-pressed nurses & surgical doctors. I found the standard of hygiene & care from medical, cleaning & catering staff to be extremely high & I was treated with courtesy & efficiency at all times.
Thankfully, my problems were resolved without the need for further surgery & I was discharged on 27th June 2012.
What could be improved
The food was adequate but not appetising.
"I have every confidence in the quality of care..."
