I had been having dental pain for some time. My local dentist said I needed to have a tooth extracted. I was referred to a local surgery.
The first appointment was cancelled as the Dental Surgeon wasn't available. The second appointment was cancelled indefinitely due to coronavirus. I returned to my local dentist and asked to be referred to hospital as an alterative as the pain and infection was increasing. I was then referred.
I had not heard anything and after a weekend of pain my wife made contact with East Surrey Hospital Dental unit direct. The receptionist took my details and called back to confirm that a referral had been made and that a dentist would call me direct. I received a call from Dan (the dentist) shortly afterwards and took details about history and said he would call back. He called back and arranged an appointment for the next day! I have just come back home after the extraction and I have to say it was completely pain free and I was very well looked after by Dan and his team. I am sorry I cannot remember the name of the dental nurse/assistant but she and Dan were wonderful as was Meg (who dealt with my consent form and explained the procedure) and the receptionist.
I know we are at present in difficult times with the corona virus but they were all outstanding as was the dental unit itself. - Thank you
