Do not forget to register at reception. I walked past the receptionist just before my appointment time and said hello and sat down. Having been living overseas for 16 years where they did things differently (I never registered at desk but they called your name instead) I sat down a feet from the receptionist (I was the only one waiting). Approximately 15 mins later asked her if Dr running late and she said I'll book you in (it was then I realised my mistake of not registering at desk) Dr called in a new arrival so I checked again - she said you missed your appointment. I said I was here and she said the computer says you were 16 mins late. I tried explaining that those 16 minutes were spent in the waiting area but to no avail. In fairness, the Dr said she would see me after two more patients but my patience had run out with the receptionist. Please, please train receptionists to be less automated. Perhaps when someone walks in (I was the only one there so she wasn't inundated with people) smile and ask if they have an appointment. Some people do forget, some are elderly or like me, simply forgot the new routine of things. I walked out without seeing the Dr and will register with another. The most frustrating part was being told I was late again and again when clearly I wasn't. Head bashing against wall situation and made to feel like a unit instead of a person. The computer said ....
