I'll admit past experiences of admissions to mental health wards have not always been great for me, I find the environments noisy and distressing. However, on this occasion it was an entirely different experience and I can only praise the staff on Keats Ward, Meadowbrook for their kindness and compassion during my admission. It was ultra distressing (although I don't often show my distress) because for the first time I was Sectioned so everything was taken out of my control. Upon arrival I was showed to my room in which I had to isolate in whilst waiting for a Covid-19 test result to come back. The staff ensured I was ok and fed and watered. My primary nurse talked me through the sectioning process and what my rights where etc. He also took into account my own wants and needs. This experience in Salford was so much better that other admissions I've had in other towns (I'm not from Salford) and I just want to say thanks to the staff for working and caring for patients during these difficult Coronavirus times, you are all stars! I'd also like to add the garden on Keats Ward is really impressive and welcoming!
