"Poor outpatient pharmacy "

About: South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

Visited hospital with my wife. Had to visit pharmacy for medications. Notice said no more than 4 people 3 patients inside so was asked to wait outside. However there was a group of about 4/5 staff chatting hugging exchanging gifts flowers etc with a staff member birthday I think. Masks on / off for sometime so much so that other patients waiting outside commented on how unprofessional it all was. At least 2 pharmacists appeared to work flat out trying to avoid the celebrating group. There were hundreds of prescriptions stacked up on the counters which added to the chaos. Also two nurses came in for a bag of Made up scripts Then stood at counter sorting out which ones each wanted. Celebrating continued in this chaos and patients In and out couldn’t hear if their . names were called out. Another patient went to tell someone that they may have missed their Name which seemed to irritate the counter staff lady whose mask was hanging half off her face. Unprofessional chaos poor patient experience and risky behaviour but no other option available to get your prescription.
